Swift has been in India for more than a decade. With the launch of its first iteration in 2005 the company has sold more than 1.5 million units in India, and more than 5.4 million units globally making it Suzuki’s flagship product worldwide. However Since its launch the company hasn’t made major changes in terms of its visual component. However this time around in 2017 the car has received a major overhaul. It’s development is focused on achieving innovative styling and uplifting driving performance through the adoption of extremely light and rigid new-generation platform “HEARTECT”.
Suzuki claims the new platform will help the car to be more nimble and agile driving performance. The company has made an investment of 1000 crore to develop the new swift.The weight of new generation is 840kg. The car is 10mm shorter than the current Swift, and its wheelbase is 20mm longer, height is 15mm lower and vehicle width is 40mm wider
Maruti Suzuki Swift in India will be powered by 1.2L petrol engine and 1.3L multijet diesel engines. They will also be offered with an option of automatic and manual gearbox.
Next generation Maruti Suzuki Swift will also feature the 7-inch infotainment system which will support Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto. We have already seen the say system on Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
